Anything affecting the DB box, sub-DB, or work above certain capacity thresholds requires a chargeman certified by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST). We carry chargeman certification. Most KL handyman-electricians do not.

Short circuit
Insulation breakdown somewhere — appliance flex, in-wall cable, junction box. Insulation resistance test plus circuit isolation locates the fault.

Power loss
If only one zone: MCB tripped or RCD tripped (reset cautiously). If whole property: ELCB tripped, supply-side fault (call TNB), or main switch failure.

Describe a fault or plan new electrical work
For a fault, tell us which rooms, fittings or appliances are affected, what you observe and when it happens. For planned work, list the points, lights or equipment you want installed and their intended positions. Send only externally visible information that you can obtain safely.
Choose power points and wiring for new points or wiring enquiries, lighting and ceiling fans for fittings, and DB box assessment for a board or recurring-trip enquiry. Ask the quotation to distinguish fault assessment from installation or replacement work.
